More Trenches

I dug many trenches, here are some.
The back house had a scary old electrical panel in the pump room that was fed through the main house that really wasn't safe or something to build off of. So I had an electrician come out and properly connect my back house to the meter, install a new panel and make everything safe. I could have paid his team to dig the trenches as they're used to doing but I saved at least a few hundred dollars by doing it myself and they even let me borrow their pick axe and told me exactly where and how to dig.

This shows the new plumbing pipe leading from the bathroom to the clean out by birch trees, another trench I had the pleasure of digging.
This trench was for drainage next to the north-facing wall. After digging this and laying gravel, I worked on leveling out the grassy area that was sloping down towards the house. One shovel at a time and wheelbarrow full, I moved the soil to other parts of the property with the top grass layer set aside until it was leveled-ish.

Another small trench next to the crawl space door under the front house. This spring I'll continue with more gravel trenches along the east side of the front house to improve drainage.
