Compost in the wrong zone

The property came with a large compost system, which is great, but the location was all wrong. Mom and I ripped apart the pallets and shoveled everything one wheelbarrow at a time to be taken away. Thanks to Craig for loaning us his incredible trailer!

We did it! We were so happy for this beautiful area under these amazing poplars to now be a place to enjoy the gorgeous southern views!

I laid cardboard over this entire area and added leftover wood chips from the tree I had removed.

Now it's a great place to have morning coffee and watch the clouds roll by. I also moved the rogue poplar we accidentally put in the veg garden, when we thought it was a blueberry. It's early spring and I'm seeing tiny buds forming on it, so hopefully it survived the transfer.

I'm so happy we created this nice seating area, it's also where my hammock hangs when the weather is right.
